Shelly Baker has spent the last decade working in communities on issues pertaining to foster care advocacy, climate justice, worker’s rights, and equity. She received her Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Virginia and her Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Shelly empowers underserved communities to build health, wealth, and power as the digital organizing director of BlockPower.
Karthik Balasubramanian is an information systems professor at Howard University School of Business and veteran of numerous political campaigns for the past 12 years. Dr. Balasubramanian leads a talented team of volunteers and organizers as the co-founder and director of BlockPower.
Mark Chonofsky is passionate about building democratic power as leader of Blockpower’s volunteer tech team. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Oxford University and worked as an embedded tech specialist on Abigail Spanberger’s 2020 campaign for Congress.
